Patricia Bergström

Project Officer, Alumni Relations

Patricia Bergström is a great believer in collaborating and sharing knowledge in order to improve interpersonal and intercultural relations as a means to create a more peaceful, tolerant and informed global society. She has had the best of both northern and southern European influence in her upbringing, broadening her cultural perspectives from the very start. Patricia's educational background includes the IB Diploma (St Clare's College, UK), MA Hons in Modern Languages (University of St Andrews, Scotland), Diploma in Hotel Management (IHTTI Neuchatel, Switzerland), MA TESOL (ULPGC, Spain), PG certificate in Emotional Intelligence (UNIR, Spain), and accredited certifications in Advanced Neurolanguage Coaching, Mindfulness, NLP and Humane Education, among others. She has been working in education for more than twenty five years, having held a range of roles, including various leadership positions, in schools and other academic institutions, as well as running her own business for 10 years. Patricia completed the Global Schools Advocate Program for the 2021-22 cohort and then became a Mentor for the 2022-23 and 2023-24 cohorts, and a Senior mentor for this last cohort. Patricia’s background as IB Diploma Coordinator and IB CAS Coordinator, as well as being active in global networks, such as the Global Teachers Club, further enhances her understanding of the importance of global thinking and service learning. Professionally, she is currently working at the British School of Gran Canaria teaching Spanish language and literature, as well as being the current Well-being Lead and coordinating an extracurricular club focusing on environmental, developmental and fundraising projects.
