Melissa Pritchard

Melissa Pritchard Born and raised in Oregon, USA, Melissa has spent half her lifetime living abroad, after being awarded an Ambassadorial Scholarship from The International Rotary Organization in 2002. She has been teaching for 15 years throughout international schools in Spain, France, and Switzerland. She enjoys using an inquiry-based learning approach and promoting student agency, following the International Baccalaureate’s Primary Years Programme. Melissa has taught children ages 3 through 15, in Spanish, French and English. She has also been a student teacher mentor for teachers in training with Durham University’s PGCE program and works as an independent consultant creating teacher resources and developing curriculum for an online writing platform. In 2013, she took a 2-year pause from teaching to pedal 34,000 kilometers, solo, around the world while visiting local and international schools on her route. Recently Melissa completed a Master Teacher Endorsement through Inspire Citizens as well as additional coursework with Compass Education, igniting her passion to dive deeper into Education for Sustainable Development. Melissa is joining the SDSN Global Schools Program as a Project Officer (Content) on the Marketing Team.
