Global Schools participated in the Pakistan Weekly SDGs Webinar on SDG 4: Quality Education. The webinar was hosted by Global Schools Mentor Advocate, Hafiz Jawad Sohail.
On Sunday, October, 4th 2021, Hafiz Jawad Sohail, an SDGs Advocate, and Pakistan’s Country Coordinator for COY16, hosted a webinar that centered on discussions around SDG 4: Quality Education. The webinar attracted 80 participants and featured 9 speakers from 5 countries who shared their respective work in relation to SDG 4: Quality Education and the need for a more holistic educational structure.
Among the speakers was Global Schools Project Officer, Fikayo Agha, who shared her work and interests in SDG 4 and the work of Global Schools. Global Schools aims to support schools, teachers, and students with tools, resources, and programs on the SDGs and global citizenship education.
During her talk, Fikayo highlighted the importance of quality education in building and shaping citizens that develop problem-solving skills to tackle today's challenges as well as the prospective challenges of tomorrow. She also spoke about education's essential role in promoting sustainable solutions and structures in world systems.
Fikayo enlightened the participants of the positive impact Global Schools is creating around the globe. She encouraged teachers who participated in the webinar to engage with the SDGs in their teaching methodologies and apply for the next cohort of the Global Schools Advocates program.
